well this is exciting.
sooo this would be my first real blog entry with actual writing in it.
my eyes have recently been opened to the world of blogging due to an assignment for my fashion seminar class which i at first believed to be stupid and pointless but nevertheless worked my ass off for bc i wanted a decent grade. we were told to fill up a journal with pictures that inspire us but they pretty much need to relate to the topic that we read about in our textbooks. we also need to relate these entries to other classes and just other random bullshit. personally, i think this fashion seminar "class" is a joke, as does everyone else that has been forced to take it. but anyway, so this journal. first i wasnt really into it.. i spent hours looking through my "okay-to-cut" magazines laying around my apartment bc i wasnt about to cut up my beloved Nylons/Interviews/favorite issues of Bazaar or Elle. this made my "journaling" really difficult bc 1) i needed to go looking for pictures that related to the topics we were given and 2) everything that was worth being cut from these magazines was already pasted onto whatever other projects i had been given in the past. finally, i was fed up with this shit so i looked online for pictures. gee, what an outlandish idea. looking on google for images for a project. honestly, i dont know why it took me so long to realize that. but anyway i searched for some picture and came across a certain blog, and, to make a long story short, i fell in love with this chick's blog so i looked for whatever images i liked on hers and other blogs she subscribed to, and other blogs they subscribed to, and pasted them in my damn book whether they had to do with the stupid topic or not. then i went back and somehow made these pictures relate to the topic. i wasnt sure what the teacher was going to think, especially because shes a really tough teacher and i dont like her much to be honest with you bc she messed up my overall grade in her one class 2 quarters prior. i handed in my journal the other day and she gave me 75/75 points and said it was the best one yet. basically she told me im the shit and wanted to keep the journal to show to other classes. basically, success.
now im obsessed with reading people's blogs and i think that i'm going to be wasting a ton of my time in front of a computer for quite some time.
i'm really hoping to be able to make connections with some fascinating people, people in fashion, and people i can relate to, and maybe even people that i can sell my creations to. i love designing and am finding more inspiration now than ever and my mind is whirlwinding (nope, apparently not a word since i can now see that it is underlined in red) with design ideas and shopping ideas even though im broke as a joke.
peace.
